COVID-19 UPDATE (as of March 2026)

At WoW Power Walking we encourage you to follow the recommendations of public health officials in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and any other infectious virus/bacteria. By all accounts we now live with an endemic COVID-19 virus. Coach Lee is fully vaccinated (+ 7 boosters). While a certificate of vaccination has never been required for outdoor exercise classes, we encourage vaccination if you have no health reason to avoid it. We must respect that the longterm consequences of COVID-19 are unclear. Activity can be healing, but exertion is not helpful when experiencing a fever and it is never a good idea to share your unhealthy virus and bacteria with others! Let’s protect our walking friends, family, healthcare and frontline workers, fellow Canadians and citizens of planet earth.

Do not come to class if you are feeling unwell, whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We acknowledge that the land upon which we walk is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.

IN-PERSON WALKING WORKOUTS (WW) 60/90 (held in Toronto, Ontario only)

WALKING WORKOUT 60/90 (in person): Outdoor walking workouts in Toronto. Tuesday class at Sunnybrook Park, Serena Gundy Parking Lot #3 (8:00-9:30am), Wednesday class at High Park in the parking lot beside tte zoo entering through gates off Parkside Drive (noon-1pm), and Saturday class at High Park just inside Parkside Drive gates (7:30-9am), These classes will challenge you with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) while keeping one foot on the ground at all times! We also include other wonderful workout strategies to make you stronger, fitter, and faster. Ten to fifteen-minute warm-up followed by anywhere between 30-60 minutes of speed drills and sometimes strength/balance drills, finish with a 5-15 minute cool-down and stretch. (Timing varies according to weather, location, and the workout plan as determined by the coach). Note: single class purchase is available.

*WALK CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY. In the past, if a class has to be cancelled out of concern for weather or public health restrictions, these walking classes have been re-scheduled to another day. Because of the challenges associated with this rescheduling, any classes cancelled for these reasons will instead be shifted to a Zoom workout. It will happen over Zoom at the time of the cancelled class. This class will be a mash-up of yoga, strength and stretch that will reinforce walking posture and power! If the Zoom workout does not work for you, you are welcome to make-up the cancelled class at any other walking class within two months of the cancelled class.

Yoga classes with Lee are wonderful – a beginner feels welcome, learns, and is motivated to keep going. Meanwhile, yoga experts are encouraged and led to even stronger yoga practice. Highly recommended.
Nancy R. Oakville

Lee is the walking coach’s coach. She has created a thorough curriculum that breaks down the walking pattern into four basic progressions, each presented with helpful cues and takeaways. Not only will you be a better walking coach at the end of the eight week course, you will be a stronger walking athlete yourself.
Katie D., Austin, TX

Lee’s coaching makes all the difference for power walkers at all levels. Her proven methods of interval training and hill work, combined with her positive attitude and decades of experience, will prepare you for any race. Her great advice to “trust the training” carried me through a recent marathon.  Above all, her classes are fun, friendly and inclusive.

Dianne B., Toronto
